It's a new year and this time around I actually sat down and put together a list of goals to guide my writing this year. Here are my 18 writing/writing related goals for 2018:
Publish 2 books (they’re already technically written, they just need a fair amount of editing which I have been procrastinating on).
Read 18 NEW books (I have a terribly addicting habit of reading the same books over and over again because I love them and new books can be scary because you don’t know what to expect. But it is a habit I am determined to break). Ideally, I would read all of the books that I bought for #DecTheShelves, but… that probably won’t happen.
Post once a day on Instagram (that’s 365 posts).
Post more regularly to my blog (and by regularly, I’m thinking weekly or biweekly).
Be more involved in my hashtag #WIPTruthOrDare
Write the fourth book in The Blythe Series.
Make a decision whether or not to start a YouTube “BookTube” Channel and stick to that decision.
Find shelf space for the pile of books that is currently resting on my floor.
Stay positive (this goes for writing, and for life)
Get “Rose” into more bookstores.
Sell/giveaway the rest of my copies of Rose.
Release the 2nd edition of Rose.
Listen to my characters.
Connect more with the writing community.
Finally decide what I'm going to do about my abandoned YA Dystopian Series that I had previously abandoned.
Are there many writing hashtag games on Instagram??? Find out. Participate.
Do I REALLY want to write that musical I’ve been mulling over? Decide.
Be a better beta-reader. It should NOT have taken me a month to beta-read that last book!
It's quite a list, but I'm shooting for the stars this year! I realize I may not be able to achieve them all, but I am going to try my hardest! I am nothing if I am not determined!
What are your goals for 2018? What goals do you think my list is missing? Let me know in the comments!
