The day that changes your life starts just like any other day.
We never really think about it. I know I don’t. Or at least, I didn’t. Not until recently, anyway.
Everyday we just wake up, put on our clothes, do our makeup to boost our self-esteem that would otherwise be somewhere around six feet below the surface of the Earth, and we go about our pretty little lives with our pretty little friends. The world is bubble gum and glitter to us. We don’t kiss our parent’s goodbye - they’re lucky if they get a disdainful glare as we stomp out the front door, backpack filled with everything but books, and head off to school where we will do anything but learn.
We don’t think, hey, maybe this is the day that will change my life, will define my future.
We don’t think about how today might just be the last day of our life. Or, that tomorrow we will wish that today had been the last day of our life.
I know I didn’t.
