Ah! Okay, my first novel in the series has now been published! Rose by Another Name is the first in the Blythe series.
The novel is told by two separate points of view. The first is Lady Rosalyn—better known as Rose—who has everything but is unhappy because she is missing the one thing every girl wants: love. The second is Lord Brighton—a duke known to Rose as Robert. He is likewise unhappy because his future has been stolen away from him.
Rose and Robert do not meet when their eyes lock from across a ballroom swathed in candlelight. They meet, unchaperoned, upon Rose’s near death—a near-death experience that catapults the two unsuspecting lovers toward their happily-ever-after that does not seem destined to be.
Upon Rose’s birth she was promised in marriage to a duke she doesn't know, a marriage that she dreads but accepts in an effort to protect her sisters. But Rose has never had any choice in anything, so she sneaks away from home to seek out adventure for herself before she is shackled to a loveless marriage, and what she finds is far more than what she bargained for.
She finds the love she has always longed for. But will love be enough to protect her sisters?
In a story that combines the stuff of fairytales with reality, the reader experiences the struggles between the love of a sibling versus the love of a lifetime.
Torn between the two, which will Rose choose? Her sister or her love?
You can guess how it goes, I'm sure. But this is no ordinary, run-of-the-mill historical romance. I did not use quite the same formula that all my favorite hist rom authors use, but I think it adds distinction to the story. By the end you might not be able to decide whether it was bitter or sweet, but hopefully it will leave you wanting more!
